Thickness
One-sided and two-sided thickness measurement
Thickness is measured either with two sensors facing each other on opposite sides of the material, or by reading both surfaces of a transparent layer with one sensor. Which method fits depends entirely on whether the material is transparent, and getting that wrong is the most common specification error in the category.
