IP69K and what pressure washdown really does to a sensor
The rating that matters in food production isn't the one most sensors carry.
IP67 means the sensor survives immersion. IP69K means it survives a water jet at 80 degrees and 100 bar from 100 millimetres — in other words, exactly what the cleaning crew does at the end of a shift.
Where IP67 fails
The failure is rarely the seal itself. It’s the cable gland, the connector face, or a cable routed so that it traps a puddle against the housing. An IP69K-rated sensor mounted with its connector facing upwards will still fail.
Specify the rating, then specify the installation. We do both as part of commissioning.
